How To Pay Your Medical Bills?

Before making any transaction, note that you have 15 days to payment deadline after you receive a bill.

This option is to pay your bills online with an account; For this option, you will need a registered and activated MyChart account, click on “Sign Up” if you don’t have one.

Now follow this steps to pay online;

  • Go and access your Duke MyChart Login portal.
  • Select menu, navigate and visit the billing section.
  • View your outstanding bills and billing statements.
  • Select your preferred payment method (a credit card).
  • Confirm your entered payment details and make payment.
  • View and download your payment receipt.

Can’t Access Your MyChart Account?

My Duke Health Pay Bill On Behalf Of Others As Guest?

If you need to pay medical bills on behalf of your family or parents without the use of your personal or their account, you can do it online with the Duke MyChart portal.

Payment via Pay As Guest option do not require an active account. Here’s the steps to pay bills as Guest;

  • Go to My Duke Health Guest pay at (https://www.dukemychart.org/home/billing/guestpay/).
  • Fill the payment form.
  • Complete the security Captcha.
  • Click on “Look Up” to get find the bill statement.
  • Confim the payment and select a payment method.
  • Complete payment and get the receipt.

Terms to Know On Pay As Guest

A Guarantor
The guarantor is the person responsible for paying the bill. You can find the guarantor name and account number on your statement.

An Encounter
An encounter is how your charges are grouped together to bill insurance, and usually represents your billing activity for a single visit. You may have multiple encounters, each with their own balance.

Look up your Account

Pay by Bank Account

You have the right to receive, upon request, an itemized statement that provides details of charges related to your visit. You have the right to dispute your charges and to have your bill reviewed to ensure that the charges are accurate and supported by your medical record. You may request this review by calling customer service or sending a request in writing to the address listed on your statement. At the conclusion of this review, any necessary corrections will be made and the findings will be communicated to you.

What about bills for Hospital-Based Clinics?

For Duke University Hospital clinics, you may see a charge on your bill for the equipment, supplies, and services provided in this Duke University Hospital Outpatient Department. These charges are separate from the services provided by your physician/provider. Any amount you owe will be based your specific insurance plan. Please contact your insurance company for information about your plan’s coverage and what you owe.
